Our Second Week of School
Dear Parents,
Our second week of school has been filled with lots of learning!
We read two stories that the students really enjoyed: Pete the Cat Rocking in my School Shoes and David Goes to School. Please ask your child to share with you what they loved about these stories!
We also spent some time drawing a picture of ourselves, which was our first portrait in Kindergarten! We talked about shapes that we could use to assist us with drawing parts of our body. For example, circles, ovals, rectangles, etc.
In math, we started learning about SORTING. We learned how sorting can help us keep things organized. We learned how to organize by color, shape, and size. The students organized a variety of objects in the classroom using a sorting mat.
Please ask your child about sorting and have them help you organize objects at home!
