The First Week of Kindergarten with Ms. G

Hi Parents,

Wow, what a wonderful first week of Kindergarten we had! We had a lot of fun exploring different aspects of our classroom and playing in our centers.

We also created a colorful tissue paper leaf that we can't wait to show you during our first parent-teacher interviews. To create our beautiful leaves, we first used scissors to cut around the sold black line. We learned how to use scissors safely, following these rules:

Next, we used a pencil to write our name on the back. And finally, we glued small pieces of tissue paper onto our leaf.

Some important things to know after the first week:
- all students MUST have indoor shoes to wear at school. They need to be runners that your child can get on and off themselves (velcro is great for this!)
- your child will need a snack during Kindergarten. Please send ONE snack (not an entire lunch) with your child. It needs to be something nutritious that they can open and eat independently. (Cheese string, apple, granola bar). Please send WATER ONLY for drinks.

-if your child is going to be away from school, please call the school office to let them know at 403-777-6710
-our Kindergarten times are: AM CLASS: 8:30-12:20, PM CLASS: 12:40-3:30

I am looking forward to next week in Kindergarten!
As always, if there are questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.
