Happy Holidays!

Hello Everyone!

It's been a wonderful last few weeks here in the kindergarten room.

The students have been working hard in creating their very own pattern booklets! Below is an example by one of our students who chose to use counters and make a 2 coloured, AB pattern :)

Our buddies came in to help us with our number recognition! We played a game called "Roll and Build" where you roll the dice, build the number using chips/counters and place it on the corresponding number. It was so much fun! Our kinders are becoming masters at recognizing numerals 0-10! :)

In continuing with our autobiographies, the students were very excited to share with the class their celebrations. We have students that celebrate Christmas, Eid, Chinese New Year, Hanukah, and Diwali! We listened to stories, watched videos, learned about traditions, and sang songs :)
Below is a picture of a student working on their autobiography and drawing about their celebration.

A reminder that school starts January 8th! Please don't forget about the alphabet homework to include items starting with the letter,  and place it in the brown paper bag. :)

Also, as we begin our learning and inquiry into the alphabet, we will let you all know the order and dates in which we explore each letter, so stay tuned!

Happy holidays and enjoy the break everyone! We will miss you.

Love,
Ms. Gulamhusein and Ms. Shustack
