Math and Literacy Fun!

Hello Everyone!

These past couple of weeks, we have been focusing on lot's of wonderful Math activities to continue building the students mental math and number recognition.

Here's what we've been working on!

  • Number War - Which number is greater? How do you know?

  • Subitizing - Can you identify the number of dots? Can you recognize familiar arrangements to help you? Can you draw what you see?

  • Power of Ten - Can you identify the number of colored squares? (Also a form of subitizing)

  • Number Puzzle - Can you recognize numbers and represent them using pictures?

In Literacy, these are the letters we have learned the last two weeks: C, M, D, B, N, L, V

Please ask your child to share what the letter looks like, what sound it makes, and some words that begin with each letter. Remember, each letter also has a Jolly Phonics song on Youtube that your child can sing for you!

If you would like to get a head start for next week, these are the letters we will be learning about next: J, K, R, and Z!

Have a great weekend!

Ms. Shustack and Ms. G
